Netball Training in Thundersley – Fridays at Deanes Sports Centre

Looking for netball training in Thundersley, Essex?

Our club runs weekly training sessions every Friday at Deanes Sports Centre, Daws Heath Road, Thundersley, SS7 2TD. We use both the sports hall and the outdoor netball courts, giving players the best facilities for year-round training.

Joining Our Netball Club

We welcome new players from Year 6 upwards. All new members will be asked to complete a three-week trial period with their age group. This ensures we can balance squad sizes with our available coaching resources.

At the end of each season, we may run a screening process to confirm squad selection for the following year.

Training Environment

  • Training will usually be held outdoors, or a mix of indoor and outdoor sessions depending on availability.

  • No special kit is required, but players should bring:

    • Sports trousers and a warm top

    • T-shirt and shorts (for summer)

    • Their own water bottle for hydration

Membership Fees

To cover coaching and club costs, we require a £15 per month membership fee, paid via a 12-month rolling standing order. Full payment details will be provided upon joining.

Training runs throughout the three school terms, with breaks during half-terms and school holidays.

Safety & First Aid Procedure

The safety of our players is our top priority. In the event of an injury or accident, our first aid procedure includes:

  1. Stay calm, act swiftly, and assess the situation.

  2. Call a first aider for minor injuries.

  3. For serious injuries, contact emergency services immediately.

  4. Ensure the rest of the group is safe and supervised.

  5. Contact the injured player’s parent/guardian (or partner for seniors).

  6. For minor injuries, notify parents in person at collection.

  7. Complete an incident/accident report form.
